R.S. Henderson have been operating in the haulage industry, as well as running a shop, for over four decades.
History
In 1970, Robert Simpson Henderson set up business with a mobile shop.
In 1971, Robert begun to build the current RS Henderson premises, located in Cullivoe, Yell, which comprised of a shop and a storage/garage area to house the mobile shop.
In 1972, Robert bought his first truck, and with this, the haulage side of the business began. The company became established and grew in size. By 1976, another truck had been added to the fleet.
Steady growth continued over the next few decades, and in 1999, Steven and Trevor Henderson began to take over the business from their father. RS Henderson has since continued to grow from strength to strength and the fleet has seen further additions. The company are currently operating 11 trucks and 25 trailers.
In March 2015 a second base was set-up in Scalloway, on the Shetland mainland. Operations also continue from the original base in Cullivoe.
